About Me

Sadie’s experience is as broad as it is deep. Since the 1990’s she has initiated, developed, and managed Arts, Culture and Cultural Heritage projects and events in the UK and in the United States.
She has gained experience in a variety of settings and sectors including Museums, Art Galleries, local authorities, businesses, partnerships, voluntary and community projects, as freelance and as an employee.
A very successful bid writer for grants, Sadie has secured money from Arts Council England, The National Lottery Heritage Fund, The People’s Health Trust, smaller trusts and Town and District Councils.

Working with a variety of people in the community, recruiting volunteers and Creative Industry practitioners across the art forms, Sadie is particularly interested in sense of place, community engagement and developing audience for the arts and creative experiences. This often involves bringing culture to the public, rather than expecting them to visit a recognised venue or institution.

Sadie is available to deliver projects that have secured a grant and need someone dynamic to make them happen; to coordinate, manage and deliver a project successfully.

Sadie’s other passion is North Devon Pottery and its export to the Eastern seaboard of America in Elizabethan times. She was awarded a Churchill Travel Fellowship in 2010 to research collections in Virginia and North Carolina and continues to research and collect sherds from local beaches. She shares her findings delivering talks to local organisations and at symposia.

When not working, Sadie is a hiker, explorer and food and health enthusiast. She is never happier than out on the trail, walking on the South West coast path or finding new and interesting walks from her own front door in Bideford.
Sadie loves to travel, whenever possible, as she enjoys the unknown. Exploring new places gives energy and life. She always appreciates good food; it is such a delight to discover local dishes and support local cafes, and she loves to cook at home.

Above all Sadie is a communicator and enjoys talking to people. She always looks forward to discussing and sharing ideas and plans with friends, family, colleagues, or volunteers over a cup of tea and cake or a beer!
